Quilting Bees preparing for fair

LARNED — The Quilting Bees met on June 6 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church. Members reviewed the Quilting Celebration that was held on June 3.
The featured speaker, Beverly Seifert, owner of Wichita Sewing Center, presented the program on new and improved notions, quilt items, and sewing machines.
Club President Diann Morell encouraged guild members to complete their quilt projects for the Pawnee County Fair at the end of July. Fair books and registration forms are available at the extension office in the courthouse. Announcements included row by row due at the next meeting on June 20. In addition, Merlene Baird will present a report on Crazy Quilts.
There will be no meeting on July 4. The Country Register was distributed.
Show and Tell participants were: Colleen Wolf, Disappearing 4-Patch blocks, 9-Patch using 10-inch blocks; Merlene Baird, Quilt in blue/purple/tan with black medallions.
