Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! We have Early Literacy Story Time on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and our Family Story Time on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. next week as usual. Both are a great time to introduce little learners to literacy through picture books, fingerplays, music, art, movement, and more!
Then on Friday, March 11, we have Art Exploration Studio happening at 10:30 a.m. Bring clothes that you’re ready to get messy in, because we will be making art with different types of mediums. Kiddos will be able to participate at different stations to make one-of-a-kind creations! This event is open to children in grades K-5.
For those who signed up for the March TeenBookCrate, you can start picking those up on Monday. You will have a week to pick up your box before we open up what’s left to anyone who didn’t get a chance to sign up but would like one. On Monday, March 14, we will offer boxes to teens who missed the sign-up period, first come, first serve. Remember to bring your library card so we can check out the box to you.
This coming Thursday we have our Teen Manga and Anime Club. This month we will be watching and discussing My Hero Academia. After the discussion, we’re hosting a My Hero: One’s Justice tournament. Choose from your favorite characters in the series and battle it out against each other! The top two players will receive some official My Hero Academia prizes. Teens can come by the library now to start practicing for the tournament. Just sign up for a time slot on the Xbox One during open game hours in the Teen Spot.
Next week for adults we have our regular Tech Tuesday at 11 a.m. and Crochet Club on Thursday at 4 p.m. Also on Thursday at 7 p.m. is this month’s Adult Craft, where you can make a Felt Succulent Garden. Enjoy your own colorful plants with none of the hassle of real ones. Those of us lacking a green thumb can still display some nice plants just in time for spring.
