Rosa Briseno

Ellinwood School-Community Library student library assistant Gracyn Dombroski will focus on different Ellinwood High School seniors throughout the year to spotlight, and this will be featured in our Check It Out column. Today we have two Senior Spotlights - Stormy Mitchell and Rosa Briseno.

Mitchell is a senior at EHS. Her family members are Mike and Missy. “A Court of Thorns and Roses,” is one of her favorite books series she has started this year. Her favorite quote is, “Live, Love, Laugh.” Her favorite class is Eagles.

After graduation she wants to attend school in California. Something one might not know about her is she is passionate about loving animals. We wish Stormy a great year in her senior chapter!

Briseno is a senior at EHS. Her family members are Rosa, Angel, Ivan, Aracely, Angel, Mayte and Yajaira. Her favorite book is “The Book Thief”, because it is a really good book. It’s mainly about a character named Liesel growing up in Germany while World War II is going on. “If you like action books this is one you should read,” she said.  Her favorite quote is “Failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.” - Stephen King. Her greatest challenge is the fear of failure. The reason she says that is because most of us are scared to fail or not do something right, but in order to succeed you must fail at least one or more times, and it’s okay to fail but it is not okay to give up. Some advice for incoming students is to “get out of your comfort zone, stay focused, and keep it real.”

Her plans after high school is to go to barber college and after barber college she would like to finish up going to business school and open her own barber shop.  We wish Rosa a great year in her senior chapter!
