Encounter Church, located at 601 S. Patton Road, Great Bend, will host a Family Game Night from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19. The event will provide families with an opportunity to meet and hang out with the new children’s pastor, Megan Tate.

There will be games, pizza and prizes.

“It’s going to be a great night for connecting,” Tate said. “I wanted an opportunity to meet the kids in our church as well as our community.”

In her full-time position at Encounter, Tate leads and directs children’s services on Sundays and Wednesday evenings, as well as outreaches.

Tate is a Concordia native who started as the children’s minister at Encounter Church on Sept. 21. Before that, she served as the kids’ pastor at a church in Colby for six years. She earned an Associate of Arts degree at Cloud County Community College and studied elementary education at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, N.D.

She has six brothers and sisters and said she loves being an aunt.
