Members of the Great Bend Garden Club met March 21 at the Cottonwood Extension District Meeting Room.

Nancy Williams gave the program “Flowers of the Month.” She reviewed each month of the year, the flowers that represent it, and the meanings behind them. Daffodil is the flower for March, which we are beginning to see bloom in our area. Another name for this flower is Narcissus or Jonquils. The meaning for daffodils is new beginnings and prosperity. Becky Dudrey won the door prize, which was a small arrangement of silk daffodils.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, April 18. Linda Dougherty, Barton County Master Gardener, will be the guest speaker. Hostess will be Delores Grose.
