Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Our Book Buddies program will be having its last meeting, for now, Monday, February 28, at 6 p.m. We’ve joined with Great Bend High School Educators Rising to pair teens up with kids for one on one reading time. The goal of this program is to help kids get comfortable with reading aloud and, in doing so, improve their overall fluency, expand their vocabulary, and associate reading with positive experiences. Even though this is the last meeting that doesn’t mean it’s too late to join so please bring by kiddos of all ages for some fun one on one reading time. 

Also happening Monday is our Creativiteens event. This is open to all teens in grades 6-12. This month we will be making some wearable tech! Swing by the Teen Spot on Monday at 4 p.m. to make your very own LCD bracelet. And don’t forget to signup for the March TeenBookCrate, the sign-up period ends Monday. Go to greatbendpl.info/teens and click on the link to claim yours today! Then Friday it’s time to put on your hard hats and get ready for some wild Mario levels. Hang out with other teens and play your way through some Mario Maker levels for Casual Game Friday. Things are bound to get wild as we try to see how many fan-made levels we can make it through before our lives run out! This event will start at 3:30 p.m., and because we have been getting this question a lot, no teens do not need to bring anything the game system and controllers will be provided.

Next week for adults we have our regular Tech Tuesday at 11 a.m. and Crochet Club on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Thursday at 7 p.m. will be the next meeting of the Great Bend Silver Screen Society. Friday, March 4, at 7 p.m. will be Adults Movie Night Out. If you would like to know what either of the movies we will be showing are please check our website greatbendpl.info for more information.
