LeRoy E. Dringmann of Great Bend will celebrate his 90th birthday with a card shower.

Leroy was born on Oct. 16, 1929, in Sutherland, Neb., and moved to Kansas in the late 1930s. He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1947. On Aug. 6, 1950, he married Jean Truey at Great Bend. He retired in 2016 as owner and associate of Amerine Electric after 60 years of service.

He has been active in the First Presbyterian Church serving as Elder and building and grounds chairman for many years. He served on the board of Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and was named Man of the Year in 1999. He worked on the B-29 Memorial and was electrician for 19 years at the Barton County Fair. He was Electrical Chairman of the 3I Show for over 50 years. He served as chairman of the Holiday Spirit Committee and was responsible for downtown Christmas lights for over 50 years.  

He and his wife Jean have three children, Judi Sharp (James) of Derby, the late Jane Koelsch (Rick), and Janet Siebert (Alan) of Arkansas City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
