Signs (2002) - photo by Dylan Cannon
March has been associated with a lot of different things for different people. When some think of March, they think of the beginning of spring. Sports fans get excited about March Madness for basketball and spring training for baseball.

One association that you probably have not heard of, however, is Extraterrestrial Abductions Day. Fortunately, the day has passed (March 20), so you should be safe. Here are five movies about aliens to check out now that you have been allowed to stay on Earth.

Signs

In Signs, something very strange is happening in the small town of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Graham Hess (played by Mel Gibson) is a former priest whose farm has become the victim of crop circles. Hess is unsure of what to make of them as other strange things begin to happen around the farm. Is it all just a hoax, or is there something more going on? Check out Signs for a movie that mixes visits from extraterrestrials with the importance of faith and family.

The movie appears to be going down familiar western film themes until aliens suddenly become part of the story.
