HUTCHINSON — Stage 9 will present the inaugural event for its new Excite Series in the 2018 season. A fun, rocking and rousing Stage 9 Live! PopUp Choir. Stage 9 Live! “Songs That Get People Lit” will be at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 at 9 S. Main, Hutchinson.
Stage 9 offers these special presentations throughout the year as part of a new series. Excite Series combines Second Stage and Special Events into a broad offering of fun and memorable activities as only Stage 9 presents.
Talking Tombstones and Stage 9: On Broadway [Underground] are the first two events of this series.
This event is recommended for ages 8 years and older. Similar to last year, Stage 9 is offering the world famous PopUp Choir experience for the Hutchinson community. Members of the audience will learn four songs that will later be performed, recorded, and posted to YouTube and their Stage 9 social media. This group is for those who like to sing whether in the shower, on the road, in line at the store or in our own head during meetings. If you have ever hummed or sung along to any song that gets your toes tapping or any music that touches you, then this might be the perfect event for you. No, you do not have to sing well. Yes, you do have to enjoy singing. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend and let the good times roll.
The four songs to be learned and performed this evening will be: Bohemian Rhapsody – Queen; Come On Eileen – Dexys Midnight Runners; I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) – The Proclaimers; You Shook Me All Night Long – AC/DC.
Tickets are $15. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at stage9hutch.com. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the night of the performance.
