The Lid Off Film Festival scheduled for Sept 25 through 27, is the inspiration for two workshops sponsored by the Grassroots Art Center.
July 23 – 6:00 p.m. Lucas Library
Attend a Peter Lawrence workshop to learn how to create a 90 second phone video for the “Lid Off Film Festival” contest. The deadline for submission to the contest is Aug. 30. The “Lid Off Film Festival” takes place at Lucas, Kansas, Sept. 25-27. For more information about the “Lid Off Film Festival” visit www.grassrootsart.net. Registration in the workshop needs to be three days prior to the class, so call the Grassroots Art Center at 785-525-6118 to enroll for the workshop.
August 1 – 1 p.m.
“Tin Liddies” workshop by Mri Pilar, grassroots artist, is scheduled for Aug. 1, from 1-3 p.m. at the Grassroots Art Center at Lucas. Participants will be using film reels and various other items to create recycled art. Advance Registration is needed three days prior to the class. Workshop funding has made it possible through the Russell County Area Community Foundation, Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Kansas Creative Arts Industry, and Post Rock Community Foundation to offer these workshops free of charge.
