For some reason we love to scare ourselves to death. You may act like you don't, but you do. To help out in this arena here is a video showing off five of the most creepy abandoned places in Russia. - photo by John Clyde

RUSSIA, OF COURSE I don't know why, but most of love to be scared. I pretend like I don't, but I do. I so do. A good scary movie, those old creepy pictures of something in the woods you find on the Internet that are likely photoshopped. Or when my wife comes home from her trip a day early at 2 a.m. and scaring me to death. I hate it at the moment, but I also love it.

This weird desire to be spooked is probably why I liked this video so much. It's not Halloween, but it's always a good time to get a fright.

This short video highlights five of the creepiest abandoned spots in Russia. I don't consider myself a morbid person or a fan of the macabre, but for some reason if I ever make it to Moscow I want to check out a giant abandoned hospital because why not?

I'm not saying it makes sense, but I am admitting that maybe I'm a bit more peculiar than I thought.

Whether you think you want to visit some of these places at some point is irrelevant, because the video is pretty interesting and worth the few minutes it takes to watch it.
