THE LAND OF ICE AND SNOW Led Zeppelin is an iconic band with unforgettable rhythms and face-melting solos. Many have tried to cover Zeppelin and many have failed, but a bunch of kids between the ages of 7 and 12 did a pretty solid job with three Zeppelin classics.
The Louisville Leopard Percussionists out of Louisville, Kentucky, are a performing ensemble of 55 students ranging in age from 7 to 12 playing multiple instruments that include marimbas, xylophone, vibraphone, drums, timbales, congas, bongos and piano.
The youngsters took all these instruments to create a Led Zeppelin medley including the bands hit songs Kashmir, The Ocean and Immigrant Song.
While the high-pitched sound of the xylophones and vibraphones borderline on wearing thin, this is a lot of fun to watch, and youve got to hand it to these kids; theyre pretty great. Its even more impressive when you realize a majority of these kids had never heard the words Led and Zeppelin used together before their instructor suggested this medley.
Check out the video and get your toe tapping as you listen to the song and think to yourself, Man, Id totally party with that kid in the Oregon shirt. Dont know why, but I like that little dude.
