Janine Joseph poetry reading Oct. 12

STERLING — Sterling College will host poet Janine Joseph at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, in Cornerstone in the Student Union. Joseph will read selections of her work and sign books after the reading. Books will be for sale at the event and in the Sterling College Bookstore. The free event is open to the public.
Raised in the Philippines and California, Joseph holds an M.F.A. from New York University and a Ph.D. from the University of Houston. Her poems have appeared in the Kenyon Review Online, Best New Poets and Hayden’s Ferry Review. Her libretto “From My Mother’s Mother” was performed as part of the Houston Grand Opera’s “Song of Houston: East + West” series. She is an assistant professor of creative writing at Oklahoma State University.
