After a salad supper and socializing with the members of Xi Delta Upsilon Chapter on Aug. 23, Beta Sigma Phi’s Preceptor Pi Chapter members began their sorority year with a meeting on Sept 6. Service Committee Chair Karen Reif offered several ideas for service projects and noted that members will continue to provide bi-monthly fruit donations to the USD 428 Fruit Filler Backpack program sponsored by the Methodist Church. President Janis Link received a note from Dr. Terry Turner, Director of the program, thanking chapter members for their participation in the program which has served 1,184 students since its beginning.

Receptions served over the summer were reviewed and upcoming receptions were discussed. Social Committee members Judy Krebaum and Lois Johnson invited members to attend the September social – a trip to Lyons for breakfast at Scrambled Sams followed by a tour of the Coronado Quivira Museum.

President Janis Link brought back her popular White Marble Drawing. Susan Coulson drew out the white marble and won a gift certificate to Braums. At the second meeting on Sept 20, Jeri Brozek drew the white marble and chose the same prize.

At the first monthly meeting, members took a brief personality quiz and Cindy Meitler explained the four different personality styles and the strengths and weakness of each. During the second meeting, Brenda Black read trivia about Queen Elizabeth’s life and members discussed her recent death and burial.
