Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! We have a week full of exciting events coming up so let’s just jump into it, starting with Tech Time with Robby on Monday. This time he will be teaching all ages about microcomputers, specifically Raspberry Pi. He will go over how to set up and use Raspberry Pi for game emulation, portable computing, and media. All ages are welcome to come and learn starting at 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday we have several events, starting with our regular Story Time at 10:30 a.m., followed by Tech Time at 11 a.m. Later that afternoon we have You Day Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Learn how to focus on yourself by working on self-regulation, calming, relaxing, and mindfulness skills with Shanna Long from The Center for Counseling. Shanna utilizes games and crafts to make learning mindfulness skills fun. Lastly, at 4 p.m. for teens, we have Builders, Assemble! This time we will be making kinetic stick bombs. Teens will work in teams to create the most explosive chain reaction they can, trying to build up their kinetic stick masterpieces before they go boom.

On Thursday Luna, our reading partner dog, will be here from 3:30-5 p.m. to hear stories. Luna is finally back from a bit of hiatus, and she would love to hear lots of stories to make up for lost time. She will be here every Thursday in April before taking a brief break to get ready for summer, so come read to her while you can! Thursday evening is craft time, starting with Crochet Club at 4 p.m. for all ages and then Adult Craft Night at 6 p.m. This month we will be making D.I.Y. soap using the melt-and-pour method, so it’s no lye to say this will be a fun and safe craft.

Lastly, next Saturday, April 15, we have a very special Dudes and Donuts Story Time. Grab your favorite dad, grandpa, neighbor, or friend, and bring them for some fun with stories, songs, and crafts – and don’t forget the yummy doughnuts – starting at 10:30 a.m.
