Air Force Airman 1st Class Melissa K. Demel graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Demel is the daughter of Pamela McCaslin of Claflin, and Tim Demel of Olmitz.
She is a 2009 graduate of Otis-Bison Senior High School. She earned an associate degree in 2011 from Barton Community College.
