Pilot Club excels at Heartland District convention

Pilot member and incoming club President Dan Watson was awarded the Individual Heart Award for outstanding volunteerism at the Heartland District awards ceremony during the Annual District convention April 22-23 in Overland Park. 

The Heartland district is made up of four Pilot states: Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma,  and Missouri. From all the clubs and members, Watson was recognized as the Individual Heart award recipient for most the volunteer hours throughout the entire district with 3,025 volunteer hours for this year.

Great Bend Pilot Club also led the district by receiving recognition for greatest percentage in membership growth. Great Bend Pilot Club also was awarded the Club Heart Award, 1st Place in club newsletter, 2nd Place in club yearbook, and recognition for club service volunteer hours with over 11,000 hours overall. 

“For 35 years, Pilot club in Barton County is still meeting our mission to improve the quality of life in our community,” club member Rhonda Knudson said. “These awards illustrate our continuing dedication and enthusiasm for service, volunteerism and friendship.”
