Rarely do we think about the joy, companionship, even health benefit of our family pets. The unconditional love they bring. When a death or a health condition like a stroke or Alzheimer’s makes caring for the pet not possible, the pet is often sent to a humane society to be re-homed. Those that care for the animals at the humane society have a tough job and never enough acknowledgement for their work and compassionate care. The Pilot Club of Great Bend gave the humane society a Pick Me Up to show appreciation of their tireless care and contribution to the community. Members also gathered and gave supplies they needed.
