Preceptor Pi, Beta Sigma Phi, met on Tuesday, May 3, at the Farmers Bank & Trust Meeting Room.
Officers were installed for the 2022-23 term. New officers are Janis Link, President; Susan Brown, Vice President; Brenda Black, Secretary; and Karen Reif, Treasurer.
As a chapter fundraiser, Reception Sisters assisted with a wedding at Camp Aldrich on Saturday, May 7.
Members donated fruit at both May meetings for the ongoing project for USD 428 students. Rosie Luthi gave the Beta Brief at the meetings.
Susan Brown presented a program about Spring Flowers – some familiar flowers like tulips and roses and some very unusual flowers like monkey’s face, dolls’ eyes and the bat flower.
The end-of-the-year meeting and Birthday Dinner was held May 17 at the First Christian Church. A meal was prepared by Chef Joe S. Following the dinner, the Order of the Rose Ritual was held for Karen Reif in honor of her 15 years of active membership in Beta Sigma Phi. This honor is designed to express the gratitude and esteem of a member who has exemplified the ideals of the organization through 15 years of active membership. Karen holds the Exemplar Degree and serves her chapter as Treasurer.
Social Chair, Karen Reif, announced plans for the group to travel to Ellinwood for lunch on Tuesday, May 24.
A program about vintage collector plates was given by Rosie Luthi. Yellow rose plates commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Farmers Bank & Trust were used as the table centerpieces.
The Beginning Day Salad Supper is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 23 at the First Christian Church.
The next regular meeting of the chapter will be on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Farmer’s Bank meeting room.
