American Legion Post #128 to host reunion/dinner

The upcoming event of the 19th Annual Kansas Iwo Jima Reunion and Dinner was founded by the late Walt Vincent in 1996, an Iwo Jima veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Several years ago the committee began inviting other World War II veterans to the reunion. This year the invitation is extend to all veterans. The reunion will be held on May 3, at the Arden H. McKee American Legion Post #128, 108 East Garfield in Sterling. The door will open at 4 p.m. for conversation, refreshments, and viewing of war/military memorabilia. All veterans are invited and encouraged to bring personal memorabilia.
Colors will be presented at 6 p.m. followed by dinner. The meal will cost $12 per person, at the door. Menu will be tossed salad, choice of baked smothered steak or fried chicken, baked potato, green beans, bread, and dessert, coffee, or tea; food substitution available upon request in advance.

It is important to make your meat dish selection with your reservations so there will not be a shortage of food.
