Ruth Steitz (Van Winkle) will celebrate her 80th birthday on April 21, 2022, with a card shower. She will celebrate with her family on Easter and in May.  

Ruth was born in Hays and raised in McCracken and near Byers. She is a retired day-care provider, loving many children in her home and rocking them in her arms. She has three daughters, Kim and Steve Kummer, Vicki and Brad Tucker, and Brenda and John French, and nine grandchildren.
