HUTCHINSON — The Salt City Film Fest, an independent film festival developed by filmmakers for filmmakers, will take place Oct. 17-19 in Hutchinson. There will be shows at the Fox Theatre Thursday and Saturday, and an additional evening at the Strataca Kansas Underground Salt Museum on Friday.
Opening night at the Fox Theatre, at 7 p.m., features “God Save the Wings,” screening with Q&A, preceded by a screening of “Grand Nationals - the ’74 Fire.”
Saturday’s noon special is a free event, “Making It Big,” and a meet-and-greet with Alexandra Paul and Cynthia Geary, stars of “Northern Exposure” and “Baywatch.”
Saturday matinee film blocks consist of “every genre imaginable.”

The Saturday evening feature, at 6:30 p.m., is “We Were Famous, You Don’t Remember Us – The Embarrassments.” There will be a screening with live performance and Q&A with The Embarrassments.
The “Thrills and Chills” film bundle at the Strataca Museum runs from 7-9:30 p.m. at 3650 E. Ave. G, Hutchinson. Seating is limited.
