Sterling Old Fashioned Fourth of July offered this weekend

STERLING — The City of Sterling announced its Old Fashioned Fourth of July celebration will kick off this weekend. Visitors should prepare themselves for nearly 40 different special events, the majority of which will be at Sterling Lake Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 3-4 Train rides, food vendors, inflatables, live music, turtle races, horse rides, kids fishing derby and a cash prize corn hole tournament are some of the main attractions.

A parade with the theme “200 years of the Santa Fe Trail” starts at 2 p.m. Saturday from West Washington and 8th Street, east past the Presbyterian Manor to Broadway, south of Garfield.

Sterling’s renowned Fireworks Show Extravaganza will start at Sunday night; a conert with Rice County Line starts at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Sterling Lake Stage.
