Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! We have some exciting news this week: starting Monday, May 17, we will resume our normals summer hours through August 14 as follows:
• Monday-Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Friday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Sunday Closed
We are looking forward to taking another step towards normal operation and making the library more accessible to our patrons.
As far as events go, coming up this week we have our Open Book Club on Tuesday, May 18. This month we have been reading Barn 8, the story of “two auditors for the U.S. egg industry [who] go rogue and conceive a plot to steal a million chickens in the middle of the night – an entire egg farm’s worth of animals. Janey and Cleveland – a spirited former runaway and the officious head of audits assemble a precarious, quarrelsome team and descend on the farm on a dark spring evening. A series of catastrophes ensues.” If you would like to join in on the discussion, we will be meeting at 7 p.m. in the main library area. Copies of the book are available at the front desk for check out.
Coming up on Thursday, May 20, we have our monthly Teen Anime and Manga Club meeting. This time, we will kick back to watch a movie and munch on some snacks starting at 6 p.m. If you would like reminders for when our next meeting and other club-related events are, join our Remind group and never miss out on another update!
