Ted Bird of Albert celebrated his 90th birthday with his family in Vail, Colo. Hosts for the event were his children and their spouses, Thomas and Gah Bird of Larkspur, Colo., Stefan and Valerie of Portland, Ore., Carolyn Bird of San Jose, Calif.; four grandchildren, Sam and Zach of Colorado and Nicholas and Anna of Portland, Ore.

Ted was born on Aug. 17, 1929, in Independence to Harry and Ruth Bird of Albert. On Oct. 15, 1961 he married Ingrid Neumann of Hamburg, Germany. He is a 1947 high school graduate of Great Bend and graduated from Kansas State University in 1951. He is a Korean War Veteran.

He and his wife live on the family farm near Albert, where Bird farmed most of his life. Retirement finds him playing golf, watching all sports, enjoying visiting his children and grandchildren and traveling.
