Teens can join multiplayer game ‘Among Us’

Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! We have some really cool teen events coming up this week. Tuesday, April 6, we have a Teen Game Night. Teens will have the chance to play Among Us! Will you survive the murderous crewmate imposter only to be jettisoned out the airlock? Or will you prevail in your mission to save or slay your fellow crewmates and win the game? This event will be open to teens 13 and up. To join, use the code @teenspot on remind.com or in the Remind app, or text it to 81010 (standard message rates apply). Once you’re in, send us a message with the words ‘among us’ and we’ll get you set up from there. Sign up by 6 p.m. on Tuesday the 6th to be able to play.

Saturday, just in time for Easter, we have a teen and adult craft. Join us to make D.I.Y. recycled baskets. These cute baskets are made entirely of recycled newspaper woven together. Perfect for an eco-friendly Easter basket or a cute place to put keepsakes. This craft will be in our lower-level meeting room at 11 a.m.

That’s not all that we have for our adults next week. Thursday is our next Bird Book Club meeting. We will be discussing the book “H is for Hawk.” After losing her father, a falconer decides to adopt a goshawk, a notoriously vicious predator, as a means to cope with her loss. Copies of the book are available at the front desk and e-book and audiobook editions are available through our digital services, hoopla and Libby. Join us for a rousing discussion with some of the ladies from the Cheyenne Bottoms and Kansas Wetlands Education Center via Zoom on the 8th at 7 p.m.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and our website, greatbendpl.info, for upcoming programs and updates. You can also message us on Facebook or email us at gbcirc@gmail.com. We can also be reached at 620-792-2409.
