Jessica Leigh Drummond and Andrew Steven Brockman were united in marriage on Aug. 21 at First Lutheran Church in Manhattan in a double ring ceremony officiated by Pastor Keith Wiens. Parents of the couple are Ronald and Krisanne Seidel of Great Bend and Kraig and Sara Brockman of Clay Center. Grandparents of the bride are the late Orlando and Rosalie Steinert. Grandparents of the groom are Carl Brockman, of Manhattan, Vonda Brockman, of Clay Center, Virginia Field, of Manhattan, and the late Ralph Field.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a one-shoulder, A-line gown made of soft shimmer satin by Maggie Sottero. The bodice of the gown was accented with alternating diagonal pleats. The skirt of the gown was caught-up at various points and featured rich beaded embellishments with Swarovski crystals. The elaborate one-shoulder strap was adorned with rich beadwork and Swarovski crystals as well, lying diagonally across the back. The back of the gown was adorned with satin buttons, and featured a semi-cathedral length train. Her bouquet featured bright pink daylilies, calla lilies, roses, and bright green orchids, and was tied with ivory satin ribbon.
Maid of honor was Erica Drummond, of Lawrence, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Patrice Farber, of Overland Park, Kirsten Regan, of Manhattan and Kara Shull of Hays. They wore bright green floor length dresses, with alternating diagonal pleats on the bodice mimicking that of the bride’s gown.
The best man was T.J. Fields, of Edgar, Mont., friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Trevor Howell, of Denver, Colo., Shane Field, of Kansas City, cousin of the groom, and Tom Martin, of Wamego.
Flower girl was Tegan Stratton, niece of the groom, and the ring bearer was Abram Stratton, nephew of the groom, both from Clay Center.
Ushers were R.J. Seidel and Christopher Seidel, brothers of the bride, who also served as candle lighters, both of Great Bend.
Pianist was Kari Stratton, of Clay Center, sister of the groom.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Great Bend High School, and a 2009 graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel and Textiles, with specialization in Apparel Marketing. She is employed by Dillard’s as a Beauty Consultant for Clinique.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Clay Center Community High School, and a 2008 graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and a minor in business. He is employed by United Bank and Trust as a junior loan officer and personal banker.
The couple spent their honeymoon at the Fountainebleau resort along Miami Beach in Miami, Fla. The couple resides in Manhattan.
