John and Nancy Wetig of Great Bend celebrated their 50th anniversary on Oct. 2. 

Nancy Crain and John Wetig were united in marriage on Oct. 2, 1970 in Great Bend. John worked in the electrical utilities field for 41 years, retiring from Sunflower Electric Power Corporation in 2018. Nancy was a nurse for 29 years, retiring from Hays Medical Center in 2015. They have three children, John Wetig Jr. of Hesston, Jamie and Robin Wetig of Ashland and Joy Wetig of Great Bend; and seven grandchildren, Skyler (25), Alec (24), Brittany (22), Broc (17), Bailey (15) Emma (13) and Brody (7).
