About $2 million in pavement repair will begin soon on a 12-mile section of U.S. 183 in Rush County, and traffic flow will be limited during the work.

The repair will occur on U.S. 183 from the Pawnee County line north for about 12 miles to the south city limits of LaCrosse in Rush County. Workers will mill and overlay the section.

The work is expected to begin around March 20 and be completed around April 17, depending on the weather.

During the work, motorists should be prepared to stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes. Traffic will be controlled by a flagger and pilot car.

For everyone’s safety, drivers are encouraged to slow down and stay alert in work zones.

The work is being overseen by the Kansas Department of Transportation, and the main contractor for the $2,066,584 project is Venture Corp. of Great Bend.
