6th June Jaunt full of fun

Great weather converged with great planning on Saturday for June Jaunt activities at Great Bend’s Jack Kilby Square. Families came out to enjoy the entertainment, games, food and fun.

The splash pad in Jack Kilby Square was on and kids of all ages and sizes couldn’t resist a chance to run through the spray. Bounce houses, climbing walls and tons of yard games ensured every kid had a chance to play to the point of exhaustion.

A steady stream of people checked out the selections offered by a variety of vendors, and as the afternoon wrapped up, only a few sprinkles punctuated the mild weather. Live music and entertainment played into the night as the beer garden opened and a bit more mature crowd moved into the square.

Sunday, June Jaunt activities continue. They include the HAP Dumont baseball tournament at the Great Bend Sports Complex, Gardens Galore! Tour sponsored by the Beautification Committee, KWEC Free Crafts Workshop, and a Great Bend BatCats semi-pro baseball game at Al Burns Memorial Field starting at 7 p.m. BatCats take on the Hays Larks!
