The statistics are mind boggling – obesity is an epidemic. Each year approximately $150 billion dollars of medical costs in the U.S. are attributed to obesity. One in three adults and one in six children are obese. It is highly probable that these individuals will develop a serious illness in the future. Come and learn about the factors that influence obesity and look at ways to change the factors within your control. The educational program “Action Plan for Managing Obesity” will be presented at noon on Wednesday at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th Street. The same information will be presented at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Great Bend Senior Center. Donna Krug, Barton County Extension Family & Consumer Science Agent, will be the presenter.
