On Thursday morning, the Barton County Road and Bridge Department finished the crossroad pipe installation between Sixth and Eighth streets on Airport Road (SE 40 Road), so it is no longer closed at that location, County Engineer Barry McManaman said. 

However, Venture Corporation of Great Bend is milling the surface between US 56 and West Barton County Road, so they have traffic cones set up to allow two-way traffic on two lanes of the four lane road.  

Venture’s plan is to finish the milling work by Friday evening, and start the overlay work on Tuesday, he said.
