The United Way of Central Kansas 2019 poster winners and recipients were announced at the Great Bend High School home football game Friday night. However the names of one of the winners and one of the recipients were omitted earlier, Heidi Jording from Holy Family School who presented her poster to Jeff Barnes representing Venture Corporation. Every year, Gaila Demel, United Way of Central Kansas Executive Director, visits all the Great Bend fifth-grade classes to talk about the United Way. Each student is given a poster to draw, on which they draw a picture depicting their vision of United Way and their 23 Community Partners and also incorporating the campaign theme, which for 2020 is “Join Our Camp.”
