ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Area Arts Council has opened its “Kansas Exhibit” at 223 N. Douglas Ave. in Ellsworth. The exhibit is open from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, through Feb. 14.
Featured are Marilyn Huslig’s “Kansas” quilt and paintings by Gene Smith of Great Bend and Avery Kasper of Wilson.
Mike and Diane O’Conner donated their photography of people, events and buildings of Ellsworth and surrounding areas.
The exhibit has many old books, school books, history books, cookbooks and aprons from the collection of Ellsworth resident Clara McCoy. Her portion of the display also includes Czech cookbooks and other items.
The display features the three artists — all with an Ellsworth connection — that were honored by Kansas governors: Charles Rogers, Betty Kepka Belton and Vernon Brejcha.
