A stolen car was recovered this week, but Crime Stoppers would still like anyone with information to help officers solve the case, Great Bend Police Chief Dean Akings said.
Sometime between midnight and 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29, a blue 2002 Ford Taurus was stolen from 1622 19th St. in Great Bend. Another Taurus parked beside it was entered and a debit card and driver’s license were stolen from that vehicle. Both cars were left unlocked and a spare key was hidden in the stolen car.
The Barton County Sheriff’s Office recovered the stolen car Monday morning in a field north of NE 20 Ave. and East U.S. 56, but authorities have no suspects, Akings said. Loss was $3,000.
Anyone with information about this or any crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers, 792-1300 or 888-305-1300.
