Federal charges have been filed in connection with a drug arrest earlier this year in Russell County.
Jesus Sotelo-Lopez, 36, from Sinaloa, Mexico, is charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The crime is alleged to have occurred Jan. 5 in Russell County.
If convicted, he faces a penalty of 10 years to life and a fine up to $10 million. The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Duston Slinkard is prosecuting.
This was one of several indictments returned by a grand jury meeting in Topeka, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Wednesday.
