A Great Bend home was burglarized twice during the month of May, Police Chief Dean Akings said.
The house at 1604 Monroe St. was first burglarized between 9 and 9:30 p.m. on May 9. That time, someone entered the unlocked residence and took more than $500 in cash, a collection of state quarters valued at $500 and $150 worth of loose quarters.
The house was forcefully entered on May 28, when a wedding ring and two books of personal checks from two separate accounts were removed. “There was also damage to the home at the point of entry,” Akings said. “Loss and damage was $550.”
