Senior citizens and others interested in learning about sites like Facebook and MySpace can attend a free Stop ‘N Learn program this week at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. "Social Networking: Making the Connections," will start at 1 p.m. Friday. Barton County Extension Agent Donna Krug will be the presenter.

The program is hosted by the Great Bend Recreation Commission. GBRC Program Coordinator Megan Hammeke notes that social networking websites have increased in popularity over the last several years. For many members of the younger generation social networks are the main way they communicate with others. This presentation will cover the difference in the way generations communicate and the history of social networking and how social networking sites work today.
