Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend will present the movie “Doubt” (2008) at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at the Dominican Sister Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway. Refreshments will be served, and there will be discussion time after the movie. A freewill donation is requested.
Movie description: “In a Bronx Catholic School in 1964, a popular priest’s ambiguous relationship with a troubled 12-year-old student is questioned by the school’s strict principal. Meryl Streep stars as Sr. Aloysius, whose certainty that Fr. Flynn (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is abusing the student pits her against him and institutional powers in a battle of wills and a struggle for truth.”
The Movies with a Message series will also feature “Inherit the Wind” (1960) on Oct. 18, “Strike” (2006) on Nov. 15 and “Monsieur Vincent” (1947) on Dec. 6.
