Great Bend Police officer Brian Dougherty will provide an update on street drugs in the next Great Bend Recreation Commission Stop ‘N Learn. The free one-hour program will be presented at noon Wednesday at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St., and again at 1 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave.

GBRC Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said this will be "a very eye-opening program concerning what’s happening on the streets today." Dougherty will talk about problems resulting from prescription and over-the-counter drugs that are being abused. He will explain what to look for, warning signs and when to call law enforcement.

For more information call the Recreation Commission office, 793-3755 ext. 2, or e-mail recreation@gbrc.kscoxmail.com.
