Three injured after driver swerves for deer

A Great Bend man and two children were taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital on Tuesday after a one-vehicle accident in the 300 block of NE 10 Ave. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office reports Ricky Jo Staab, 42, was driving a Mazda 929 and swerved to miss a deer around 8:20 a.m. The car went out of control and struck a utility pole.

Passengers in the car were Dalton Jo Staab, 9, and Dallas Vaughan Staab, 7.
