A cast of more than 40 Great Bend High School students and their tech crew will present the GBHS fall play, “As You Wish,” at 2 p.m. and at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16-17, at the GBHS Auditorium.
GBHS drama and English teacher Holly Johnson has four sections of drama and production classes this year. Johnson will direct the play, a tribute to the story of “The Princess Bride.” The light-hearted production is inviting and entertaining for audiences of all ages.

The Princess Bride
Inconceivable as it sounds, the motion picture “The Princess Bride” appeared more than 30 years ago, in 1987, with Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin and Robin Wright as a few the rising stars in the cast. The movie was based on a novel written in 1973 by William Goldman. Famous lines include, “Have fun storming the castle!” “As you wish,” and “Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line.”
Disney Theatrical Productions has announced a musical stage version of “The Princess Bride” is in development.
