Barton Community College signed four new transfer articulation agreements recently and re-signed two existing agreements with Kansas State University over the last several months. These agreements allow a seamless transition from Barton to K-State.

New agreements were signed for: Automotive Technology to Technology Management; Natural Gas Distribution and Transmission to Technology Management; Early Childhood Education; and Family Studies and Human Services.

Two existing agreements were re-signed, including Economics to Interdisciplinary Social Science and Sociology to Interdisciplinary Social Science.

"Individuals in the college’s service area have an increasing number of opportunities to pursue academic and career technical studies to the point of bachelor-degree completion through Barton’s partnership with Kansas State University," explained Elaine Simmons, dean of Workforce Training and Community Education. "The benefit of college-to-university agreements includes a student road map that guides individuals through the completion of both institutions’ required coursework. The advantage of having Barton’s program advisers and Jennifer Pfortmiller, KSU’s program liaison, together on our campus provides students with support that enhances the educational journey."
