The Barton Community College Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 in the Shafer Art Gallery.
The group will perform works from Mozart, Handel, Dvorak and other classic composers.  
Featured guest oboe soloist Tim Demel will also perform. He is a senior at Central Plains High School in Claflin. At age 10, Tim began playing the oboe in his school band and has been taking private lessons since.
Demel has been a member of the Barton pit orchestra for several productions, while also participating in the Barton Prairie Winds jazz band and the Barton Orchestra. He has also attended the Kansas State University Winter Band Clinic as principal oboist in the top honor band and is a past member of the Hutchinson Youth Symphony. He is a current six-year member of the Salina Youth Symphony in which he is the principal oboist. He plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Music Education.  
Admission is free. A reception will follow the performance.
