Barton County 4Hers compete in Air Rifle Match in Pawnee County

On Saturday, March 17, 11 Barton County 4H’ers traveled to Pawnee County to compete in air rifle competition.
In the 7 and 8 year old class, Will Clark from Great Bend placed first overall and had the high score in all three shooting positions and Brady Wharton from Great Bend placed second overall.
In the 9 to 11 year old class, Katelyn Reh from Ellinwood placed first, Parker Smith from Great Bend placed second, Dalton Dicks from Great Bend placed 4th and Logan Hammeke from Great Bend placed 7th. Katelyn had the high score in all three shooting positions as well. Robert Frizell from Great Bend was to compete in this age division but broke his wrist the day before the competition and was unable to shoot.
In the 12 to 13 year old division, Lake Lyman from Ellinwood placed first. Kyle Clasen from Great Bend placed third and Caleb Straub from Great Bend placed ninth. Lake had the high scores in the standing and kneeling positions.
In the 14 to 18 year old division,  Jake Kohman from Great Bend placed tenth and Ryan Kohman from Great Bend placed 11th.
The Barton county team of Jake Kohman, Ryan Kohman, Lake Lyman and Katelyn Reh placed second out of 5 teams.
On March 24, several of these shooters will travel to Gray county for another competition.
