Barton County Historical Society presents flag etiquette program
Barton County Historical Society

The Barton County Historical Society will host a program on the proper handling of the United States flag just in time for Independence Day. The program is set for 7 p.m. Monday, June 27, at the BCHS museum. Members of Great Bend’s American Legion Post 180 will show the proper handling of the flag, how it should be flown, and the significance of the folds that are performed at military funerals.

This is an all-ages program and families are encouraged to attend. Admission is $4 for nonmembers of the historical society and all individuals under the age of 16 are admitted for free.

The Barton County Historical Society Museum and Village is located at 85 South U.S. 281, just south of the Arkansas River bridge in Great Bend. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
