Barton Community College will host its 10th annual Sidewalk Art Contest this Wednesday and Thursday on the sidewalk outside the Shafer Art Gallery.
The contest is open to Barton students and local high school students. Artists can register and pick up their free chalk at the Shafer Gallery between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on either of the two days. Artists must have their work completed by 4 p.m. Thursday, May 4.
The contest will be judged by the Shafer Gallery Directors. The pieces can be done by individuals or by several artists on a team. There will be three $100 Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development gift certificates awarded to the top three drawings. If a team wins, its members will split the award.
For more information about the Sidewalk Art Contest, contact Barton Art Instructor Steve Dudek at dudeks@bartonccc.edu or 620-792-9260.
