BCC artists do well at Russell exhibit

Barton Director of Student Life Diane Engle received the Trudy Furney Tribute award for her photo Kanopolis Elevator at Sunrise.

Artists at Barton Community College got a chance to showcase their talents at the annual Russell Original Art Review Exhibition at the Russell 4-H Building.  The show ran from Oct. 12-14 and several Barton participants took home some hardware.
The show had 299 entries from 113 artists from 35 cities.  Art Instructor Steve Dudek took second place in the professional watercolor category and student Esther Maher receive honorable mention. Barton Student Life Director Diane Engle was awarded the Trudy Furney tribute award and an honorable mention in photography.  
In the amateur division, Virginia Bitter received a second place award and two honorable mention awards for her entries in the ceramics category and Bill McKown was awarded first and second place in the computer generated art category.
Other Barton students who participated were painting students Leona Kasselman, Deb Clothier, Devon Link, Cathy Nelson, and photography student Karole Erikson.
