Children ages 5-12 are invited to step into an enchanted afternoon at the “Fairytale Party” hosted by Barton Dance Theatre from 2-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 17.
Barton students will give a special performance of dances, then lead a craft using basic household items to make a crown, teach storybook dances and much more. Children are encouraged to attend dressed up as their favorite fairytale characters. The cost is $10 per child and the event will be held on Zoom. Tickets are available at shows.bartonccc.edu.
Barton Dance Theatre Director Danika Bielek said she loves to get young people involved with dance.
“The dance students are looking forward to meeting the kids and having a great afternoon,” she said. “The party is full of fantasy and fun at a time we need it the most. Having the party on Zoom limits the boundaries of location so children can attend the party to play together from all over the country … just like magic!”
This party is being presented in conjunction with the Barton Dance Department’s spring dance concert “Once Upon A Time,” which will be presented in-person and via live-stream on April 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
