BCCs fall mini classes offer new computer skills

Barton Community College is accepting enrollments now for fall mini classes that will allow participants to build or enhance their creativity and computer skills. The mini classes to be offered this fall are InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Web Basics II, and From Yearbook to Webmaster. Barton’s Web Content Management Specialist Dana Allison will teach the classes in the Technical Building, T-111.

InDesign will be offered from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. Participants will learn how to design layouts such as posters, flyers and brochures. They also will learn to create digital publications using built-in creative tools. The fee for this class is $43. If enrolling in both InDesign and Illustrator, the fee will be $33 per workshop.

Illustrator will meet from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. Participants will learn how to create artwork using drawing tools, various styles of brushes and core techniques. The fee for this class is $43. If enrolling in Illustrator and InDesign, the fee will be $33 per workshop.

Dreamweaver and Web Basics II will be offered from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Sept. 13 and 20, and Thursday, Sept. 22. Participants will learn advanced techniques for structuring a web page and how to build pages by adding text, images and content. The fee this mini class is $83. No discount is available for this workshop.

From Yearbook to Webmaster will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, providing instruction to high school yearbook instructors for converting Yearbook to Webmaster using Dreamweaver. The fee for this mini class is $89, and no discount is available for the class.
